Unuseable space?
The three blanks on the co-pilot's side of the instrument panel seem like a lot of wasted space, Andrew - is it very expensive to duplicate the pilot's instruments there, or to mount some other useful gauges?

I did think about making it full co-pilot instruments but yes it is a but $$$. I have not ruled out the idea yet.
By the way, does anyone know where and how to update the data card for a Garmin 155 updated? |

Can't help with where to get the datacard updated, I can't remember where my old company used to get their's from.
Probably a bit far for me to have a look anytime soon, , but if ever I'm down that way and in need of a Chieftain for a bit, I'll get in touch. I've got about 350hrs on the old girls. They had a certain pucker factor about them at MTOW on a hot day, . I'll never forget flying freight in them, up in the Gulf of Queensland during the wet season, on 15min sectors, min fuel, so lifting around the 800-850kg mark in freight. It was like playing tetris loading it all in, and then required you to fly the thing the whole way right from when you set take off power, until landing. Elegant machines, until you lost an engine, . Looks like a nice machine though. Cheers Mick |

Just as an extra, it looks as though you've got a reasonably late model Chieftain I'm guessing Andrew? Just noticed the annunciator panel on top of the engine instruments, and the flap lever with the preset settings (rather than the old one's where you'd select down, and then back to neutral once you'd reached the desired setting).
In that case, you've got a great Chieftain. Mick |
