EASTBOUND service rescheduling from 27MAR11. From Heathrow, service departs in late-night instead of noon. Out of Hong Kong, service to Melbourne shifts from daytime to red-eye. With the change, flight arrives Melbourne in morning hours, which opens more connection opportunities to the rest of Australia and New Zealand.

QF31/32 SYD-SIN-LHR and QF9/10 MEL-SIN-LHR both to daily A380

I am booked on a QF MEL-LAX flight next May. It is on a Thursday and was to be operated by a 744, but has since changed to an A380.

As per 04OCT10 GDS timetable display, QANTAS’ planned Airbus A380 service increase on selected routes is to be in effect from January 2011 and March 2011.
Currently planned service increase as follows:

Sydney – Singapore – London Heathrow eff 16JAN11 Service increase from 5 weekly to Daily
Melbourne – Los Angeles eff 01MAR11 Increase from 3 to 6 weekly (Day x2)
Melbourne – Singapore – London Heathrow eff 15MAR11 Increase from 2 weekly to Daily

With MEL-LAX going to 6x weekly and MEL-SIN-LHR going tp daily A380 services, Melbourne will only get 8x 747 Qantas services a week.

Does anyone think that Qantas will add more 747 services to MEL?
