That's a shame maybe the competition is too strong on that route.

Default TT rotations (April 2010)

I decided to work out the rotations of TT A320s to see if there were any more gaps in the schedule for new services to be added. I worked out the rotations for a Monday, as it was simpler to display, rather than complicating matters with samll time changes for Tuesdays, and completely different schedules on weekends. There seem to be 5 MEL based A320s, and 3 ADL based A320s. Most aircraft have one long turnaround at about lunchtime (1 hour or so, compared with 30mins usually). Aircraft 1 in my list has a large gap (indicated by ...) which could accomodate either a MEL-OOL-MEL, MEL-ROK-MEL, MEL-MKY-MEL or MEL-ASP-MEL.

So as for MEL-OOL going from currently 3 daily, then up to 4 daily for Jan-Mar, and back to only 1 daily from April, there is a spot for maybe one more to be added (as per above), or I guess the other option is that they open an OOL base, with 1 aircraft which could operate up to 3 OOL-MEL return per day?

MEL-CBR is missing from the list, so maybe that falls into that gap?

Having a look there it just dosn't seem possible for MEL-ROK/MKY/ASP to fit in.
Mackay is only 4 weekly and Rocky is 3 weekly so that should fit in the slot in Aircraft number 1 as Kain said. But that leaves ASP, and the Alice is stronger than Rocky as a 3weekly service, so mabye they are pulling MEL-ROK for the low season hence the BNE-ROK to keep that port still operating?

Either way, its seems a case of being in more places than one. OOL has been killed mid-week, Perth is now a red-eye, Canberra is again in doubt, MEL-ROK looks in trouble, so what are they trying to achieve..? Wouldn't surprise me if TT turned a profit sooner than TR does again.

Well they cant fit anymore A320's in Melbourne unless the apron is expanded for pax aircraft down there.

So they got 8 A320's now. Its good to see their schedule laid out like what kain did above. But some missing flights leaves a few questions. The ADL-CBR has gone for good it seems. They need the nineth aircraft to hold the schedules together, as now there is no slack left if one A320 goes out of service for any reason.

According to CASA they only have 7 now. So maybe the list of schedules that Kain made is for next year sometime when the 8th A320 is operating.

I think I saw somewhere that MEL-MKY is going to daily and that MEL-ROK is disappearing (but getting dauly BNE-ROK), but not sure.

That would be interesting Steve. The schedule does allow the MEL-ROK market to be serviced daily via BNE with adequate connections (slightly long on the southbound trip though). Also, provided that you have hand luggage only, the schedule allows the MEL-ASP market to be serviced on Tue,Thu,Sat via ADL with the same aircraft operating the through service (number 5 on my list which does ADL-HBA-ADL on the Mon,Wed,Fri,Sun). So maybe MEL-ASP non-stop is getting the chop?

Yes, my list is for NS10 (i.e. March 28 onwards). So they have 7 aircraft now, how many new ones are they getting next year? Seemingly at least 2 (surely they need 1 back-up), but if they were to get 3 then they could open an OOL base and put those OOL-MEL services back on.
