Certainly did land first on his nose landing gear. He was over 3000 feet as he passed mile end, then nose down all the way in, quite spectacular.

During the afternoon the Antonov was towed around to bay 18 at the terminal for refuelling. Boy those 737s and A320s look small when the beast is parked next to them.

Picked up on PP UR-82027, ADB5816, was this the one for Adelaide or was it overflying to somewhere else?
Cheers

Believe its been to Perth (possibly 2008), Brisbane in 2006 at least , possibly some more Ryan.
Just had a look on airliners and Perth in 04 as well as Darwin in 06, so she gets around

An interesting subject Gerard which made me go hunting through my records.
I noted my first AN124 visiting Perth on 23 July 1992 (CCCP82044) and since then 26 different registered AN124s have made 49 visits to Perth. UR-82072 and RA-82079 have each made 4 visits. I've probably missed a few along the way so will welcome any alterations and additions. |

AN 124 in Adelaide 6 Feb
Arrived about 11:25 local, left around 2:30 local, apparently for Melbourne.
Did not appear to re-fuel for the Melbourne leg. Push back with the rear cargo doors opened. Then the towbar was detached, brought to the back and lifted in to the rear by it's own crane, before the cargo doors closed prior to taxi-ing away. |
