Flew Virgin America a few times.

Paid for the premium row. Includes unlimited snacks and beverages etc., plus extra pitch.

Excluding the typical "American style of behaviours," I liked it.

So after a few helpful replies, I have decided to fly SFO to LAS on Virgin America (A319) and LAS-LAX on Southwest (737-700),since I’m a tight **** and don’t want to pay for 2 checked bags coming back to LAX LOL

For my flights there and back (not yet booked) I am looking at Delta Airlines SYD-SFO Via LAX (777-200 then CRJ-900 Skywest) with the return out of LAX on Virgin Australia (777-300) using a delta Airlines ticket (which at this stage is cheaper than going SYD-LAX itself).

While my wife has no interest at all for aircraft types, for me it works out pretty good to get such a nice variety LOL

Has anyone used Delta tickets before for the Virgin flight home with 2 bags?
I have been trying to find information regarding checked baggage fees from LAX to SYD for a 2nd bag using a delta ticket on a VA Flight and just wanted to know if I have to abide by the Virgin rules on checked bags or Deltas......

You should be able to get an open jaw ticket, which means you can get from SYD - SFO via LAX and then return from LAS via LAX, all pending if you are going to stop in LA for a few days or not. That ways you only need to get the SFO - LAS tix. Are you booking it all yourself or thru a travel agent?

booking/booked it All myself mate.....

Im heading to SFO and LAS for my holiday and so far I have booked the, SFO-LAS sector with Virgin America and my LAS- LAX sector for the start of the trip home with Southwest airlines, This is due to the 2 bags fly for free deal sthwest run (since I'll be buying 2 extra suitcases when in LAS.),

I have made sure that my southwest flight back into LAX arrives with plenty of time to spare before heading home.

All that I have left is the SYD-SFO via LAX sector to go and even with the sales for Virgin Australia (then going up by Virgin America or Sth west) its still cheaper for me to go through DELTA on a multi stop service, which is what im leaning towards at the moment...

Through this I was going to go Delta there and Virgin home (mix it up) and was just curious on baggage rules since delta charge for your 2nd bag according to their website while Virgin dont....

Ok so I went ahead today and Booked my flights from Australia to the USA with Delta Airlines and when they sent me the confirmation via email they actually advise you on the baggage requirements and charges.

So Being that I am coming back on a delta codeshare flight with Virgin Australia, I have to abide by the Virgin Australia Baggage rules meaning you dont get charged for a 2nd bag........
