It's mostly the older units that have engine reliability issues, not saying that the new ones don't, but the older ones are affected the most. Air France sent a few of their new 220s into storage at Toulouse Francazal without engines, similar to what NZ did with a few of their A321neos.

I expect an engine change (hopefully 1st one) on a brand new frame (arrived 12/2024) is telling enough.

They do engine changes on new aircraft to mix up the engine times etc. Helps with maintenance and also redundancy.
