Hi All,

Rowan - OEI Depart AVV Monday Night (2/4) @1950 as QF6196 to Sydney flying FL450

As she only arrived in AVV 26/3 as QF6195, I assume it was only light Maint done.

I did speak to a Boeing and QF Engineer in Lara and the Boeing person stated he was a Landing Gear Specialist and mentioned OEI was in the hanger.
From that info, I assume he was working on the Landing Gear on OEI, as he didn't know what other A/C was there.

Stuart

Hey Stuart! Cheers for the extra info. FL450 is pretty impressive for a short sector, albeit a very lightly loaded B744ER!!! Bet the crew had fun with that :P

Rowan,

I have noticed that a few of the AVV-SYD ferry flights have been at FL450.
For what reason I don't know.
The only reason I could think of was to keep away from RPT services

Anyone else know why they ops at FL450??

Stuart

They filed FL410 but went up to FL450 for a short time.

QANTAS says it “remains fully committed to showcasing the diversity of Indigenous art”, after confirming to TD that its Wunula Dreaming livery has now been removed from the skin of one of its Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
The vibrant Wunula Dreaming artwork had graced the QF 747 for nearly two decades.
“The paint scheme from Balaringi Studio had reached the end of its life and the aircraft has been restored to a standard Qantas livery,” a QF spokesman told Travel Daily today.
“We will unveil a new indigenous livery on a different aircraft by the end of 2012 and the Yananyi Dreaming aircraft - a Boeing 737 by Balarinji & Central Australian artist Rene Kulitja - continues to fly,” Qantas said.

And this.........

QANTASLINK is to reveal a new Q-400 ‘Golden Guitar’ livery tomorrow in celebration of the carrier’s launch of the 40th Tamworth Country Music Festival

They are stripped to bare metal to keep the paint weight at the minimum.

VH-QOH the white is still the factory paint but the pink was added to the top.
