My bet's on Virgin Australia for domestic and V Australia for international. That way they can easily add the Virgin name to international flights in the future if the deal with SQ is ever terminated.

And, I don't mind the gradual release of information and changes. It keeps them in the public eye and gives a sense of "kaizen" or "continuous improvement" rather than a one-time big overhaul and relaunch which could give the pereception that something was wrong.

I'm looking forward to future announcements!

VH-YFC due in around the same time from CHC.

Both with the new paint.

I was under the impression that VH-YFC was already here?Has it been in CHC for painting in the new livery? AFAIK the next 738 after YFC is YFE which has just undergone it's first flight in the US.
Cheers

And I told you all that it was getting closer. Sir Richard is also in the region in the first week of May. So if you join all the dots you get the date.

BTW another 4 of the older 737's are about to leave the fleet.

Good things come to those that wait.

If V and DL do not receive anti-trust immunity they can still codeshare but cannot coordinate schedules. V and DL have argued to the US DOT there will be more transparency and willingness to codeshare if they have anti-trust immunity. For example, without anti-trust, DL may not be as willing to transport a JFK pax to LAX if the pax is going to go on a V flight to SYD instead of DL's SYD flight. Same thing other way around--V would not be as willing to transport a BNE-SYD pax only to take a DL flight.

This is going a bit deep into the workings of an alliance, but V essentially plans to give codeshare pax (if anti-trust is granted) priority in the res system. What this means is that a DL codeshare pax on a low value ticket could bump a domestic-only high value ticket. V is offering this as they would make more money off that codeshare pax once revenue from the trans-Pacific flight is factored in.

Also, I don't understand what all of this fuss is regarding JB's recent comments about serving Asia. JB last Oct said Asia was on the radar, and gave far more details, e.g. will fly some routes, have alliances to other destinations, and even mentioned specific countries (although it was almost all of the major ones).
