The thing is Andrew it might not be about "making money" but rather about losing less money then having the aircraft sitting at YSSY everyday, paying Sydney Airport for the parking & making no revenue during that time.
This increases the utlisitation of the aircraft, increases revenue and very importantly also increases the airlines/brand/product visability & awareness with consumers. Singular routes are often not about making a huge (or any) profit on that particular route but rather consider the overall revenue and the long term sustainability of the brand. |

[QUOTE=Andrew M;34007]Interesting......
Jetstar I assume will use A320's - All Economy A321's will operate this route Source-travel weekly |

With the application request for 1,491 seats per week I new it had to be a daily A321 operation not a daily A320 as they only have 180 seats.
Jetstar up till now has ignored the pac islands they could start plenty more in the region e.g. SYD-APW, NOU, HIR, Tonga, Cook islands and others. |

Thanks Andrew so a weekly A320 seat allocation would just be: 1,239 seats except for the 3 you pointed out the odd ones in the fleet.
