Air India have 787 VT-ANK sitting on the ground at Birmingham Airport in the UK after going tech after arriving from Delhi since 7th Feb !! .. Apparantly it has a major problem with the thrust reverser mechanism , and the part is not available from the manufacturer ... It would be crippling financially to have such an earner just sitting there idle . Very strange ..

It was apparently an Air India engineering issue that caused the problem with the thrust reverser on VT-ANK

VT-ANT was delivered to Air India today direct from Charleston to Delhi , so we should be seeing her soon down here .
Parts arrived today at Birmingham for the repair of VT-ANK , so she should be back in the air soon too .

VT-ANI is also back in service after its 'cannibalisation' during part of 2014.

Boing has delivered Air India's 20th Dreamliner, VT-ANU (36292), and the first B787 in Star Alliance livery. Can't find any images of the aircraft so far, however @B787fans has a model in the Star Alliance livery.

Hopefully we will see VT-ANU soon on the Sydney-Melbourne services.
