This caught me out yesterday when I wanted to get a shot of the Connie leaving. The beach was PERFECT with the short burst of sunlight had -EAG taken 16R! Ah well, planes don't fly solely for photographers

Silly question, though is there any way of finding out in advance what runway an aircraft is going to depart/arrive on? I assume this gets given when the aircraft contact ATC for Airways Clearence while they're still on the ground?

Maikha if you listen to Clearance and ground you can determine what runways for takeoff and any approach frequency will constantly repeat what runway aircraft are arriving on (eg 124.4, 125.3, 128.3 and 126.1) or even 128.6 for aircraft coming from the east.

Awesome shots Chris.
