Andrew was that departure just after 9pm tonight? Something took off to the north past our house then banked left. It had the strangest engine noise. I raced out the front but by then I couldn't make out the type. The sound had me intrigued. Nothing showed up on Flightradar24

Many thanks Tim. It was a sound quite unlike any other aircraft that usually comes to our shores....or airspace.

Ha I did the same thing then came back in and wrote down the time (917PM). Nothing on flightradar24 but an hour later the webtrak replay site (the aircraft noise monitoring service) confirmed it was the AN124.

The AN124 is coming back from POM this evening. ETA 1830. Flightaware

Shows as 'scheduled' on FlightAware however it has appeared on http://www.balus.info/ a couple of minutes before I posted this, so it is enroute.

Would it get out before curfew because it was planned to do a couple of these flights?
