Speaking of Qantaslink changes, there seem to have been a lot of Qantas 737's doing the normal 717 runs into Hobart the past couple of months. On top of this, I've read various comments of the 717's regularly going un-serviceable causing a series of delays into and out of Hobart. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I think the heavy use of 737s is a capacity issue, as almost every time I've seen it, it's using the old flight number and 1509/1508 is not showing on the schedule at all. Generally when the 717s go mechanical and mainline step in, they will use a 12## or 13##

I've seen 737 services planned weeks out in the schedule and they're using the old QF10** numbers.

If they're planned weeks out they're not replacing a u/s 717, which goes to what Zac was saying earlier.

Great news for CBR and great to see that hangar go to its intended use! Keeping my fingers crossed re the announcement "will complement our increased flying out of Canberra with this aircraft type."

Cobham expects job losses after losing Qantas 717 heavy maintenance work

Swings & roundabouts, wins in Canberra & losses in Adelaide

Whyalla started up today with VH-SBG operating the first service. I'd expect SBG will remain in ADL till TQM leaves heavy maintenance and it will then join its 5 sister ships in storage at TMW.
