Went past the hangars at MEL today during work break, interesting to see nearly all VA/TT aircraft are missing one engine each, including an A320, I believe it was VNK, also one engine removed. Can't all require shop visits? Perhaps aircraft need to be re-fitted with original allocated engine if a swap took place at VA prior to return to lessor.

Yup, it's a big deal reuniting all of the airframes with the correct engines, radios, computers and other numbered parts.
To add to complexity it is not normal to change two engines on the same aircraft in one shift, in case a mistake is made on both. |

Yes, I managed to sight VH-XFJ departing at work today. I noticed it was already a white tail.
