But according to Qantas schedule, QF804 which normally operates as a 763 on Mondays is scheduled to operate as a 763 in April sometime...??

Just wondering whether there would be demand to put the A330 onto the CBR-MEL route...??

Yes there certainly is when Parliament is sitting! 804 inbound on Parliamentary sitting weeks is packed with a 763!

Turnaround time for an A330 is significantly longer than a 767, and it may take up as many as 3 gates with its significantly greater wingspan. Not merely a question of demand...

Darwin has a 767 in July too, that far out it doesn't mean a thing. Just says the planners ain't got that far down the line yet!

Gate space is not a problem, we have bays set out for A330s here, I don't see how turn around time can be any different to a 763, is it to do with the brakes? I don't see why you couldn't turn a 330 around in 40 minutes!

Slightly off topic, but one of the domestic A332's think it was -EBN did a SYD-CNS-SYD a few weekends back, so maybe a sign of future rotations

It would be virtually impossible to turn an A330 around in 40 minutes, unless it is an extremely light load and/or there is next to no freight on it. I'm not sure how much freight demand there would be in Canberra or how many bags per person an A330 in CBR would attract but for it to arrive, be unloaded then loaded and then depart in 40 mins or less would be something I wouldn't believe could be done.
