Air Pacific, Air Vanuatu Codeshare Nadi-Port Vila
Fiji’s Air Pacific and Vanuatu’s Air Vanuatu have reached agreement for Air Pacific to operate all flights between Nadi and Port Vila starting April 1, 2008.
Air Pacific has added a second weekly 160 seat B737-800 jet service to the Nadi – Port Vila – Honiara route which will now be served on Tuesdays and Fridays. A third weekly Nadi – Vila – Nadi flight will continue to operate on Sunday’s using an ATR42 aircraft.
Air Vanuatu recently took delivery of a Boeing 737-800 aircraft for services between Vanuatu and New Zealand and Honiara, Vanuatu and Australia. With the provision of adequate seat capacity between Fiji and Vanuatu by Air Pacific, the two airlines have agreed to enter into codeshare arrangements on Air Pacific’s jet services between Nadi and Port Vila.
Air Vanuatu will suspend its Thursday Port Vila – Nadi return flight from March 27.
The new agreement provides a 10.5 per cent increase in weekly seats between Nadi and Port Vila and a doubling of airfreight capacity to both Port Vila and Honiara with up to 10,000kgs of cargo space now available weekly in each direction.
Air Pacific is the major regional carrier in the south-west Pacific and the prime carrier on the Australia-Fiji route.
The flights have been loaded into the Air Pacific reservations systems and bookings are now available.
