Website for Spotters
Hi Everyone,
I am a Sydney local working in aviation for the last 20 years. I recently built my own website for registration search purposes and it is perfect for looking up aircraft registration details. It is in no way to compete with this forum or any other, i just wanted a better way of looking up registration info than the current ones available. It also works well on mobile devices while your out and about. Data is refreshed immediately after information is available from the various agencies. I will also be putting a link to this forum which may bring some more interest back here. Take a look, would love some feedback. www.regosearch.com Cheers Darrin |

Hi Darrin
Thanks for your interest and making the site available to other enthusiasts. It looks pretty good and I'll certainly be using it. If I may offer one suggestion - is it possible to include a "line number" field for Boeing and McDonnell Douglas airframes ? Congratulations on your efforts and I look forward to seeing future updates. Cheers Bob |

Website Use
Hi Phil and Bob,
Thanks for your replies, go for it on using the site, that's what it is there for. Some things i am working on - membership to place comments about an aircraft, not a forum at all, just the ability to comment and then soon after that the ability to upload pictures. I am also working on a wiki, basically an aircraft encyclopedia to complement the site..... lots more as well, just takes plenty of time to develop, test and eventually deploy..... RegoSearch.com Update
Hi Again,
I had a few requests to add the Mode S details, i have included it in the USA details pages. Does anyone know where i can get the data for AU etc?? Bob also requested line numbers - if your referring to assembly line numbers i can only do it if it is available somewhere, all of our data is automatically uploaded from the regulatory bodies. I think your website is great Darrin. Previously, I had to use up to 3 different websites to get a/c regos since some regos (particularly GA a/c regos) were not always registered on each database.
But your website seems to amalgamate different sites into the one. Well done

Mode S - RegoSearch.com
Quote:
That would be great, i assume they are set like that permanently? Is there an algorithm for creating them based on the mark? Cheers Darrin regosearch.com |

Hi Darrin
Thanks for sharing this info. The NZ Mode S codes can be found on this site http://www.caa.govt.nz/Script/Air_Reg_Query.asp I am sure that it used to be possible to see them in a list but can't find it on the site, so you may need to dig around, but you are able to check individula aircraft by searching the "Reg Mark" and teh info is then provided. Mode S Codes
Thanks Mark and Ian, for their input.
I have found more Mode S data, and now that i know they are set for the particular mark, i assume there must be some form of globally recognized algorithm for creating them, does anyone know? This would be good to generate them programmaticly on the fly so to speak rather than storing in a database, makes things faster. Cheers Darrin regosearch.com |
