It is due to land before sunrise and the forecast is for showers and thunderstorms, so I might go out on Monday to see it.

From Wiktionary...

Lee,

With Rwy 07/25 is now in action and that forecast, they might not have much crosswind at all.

Cheers

I'll set the alarm and see what the weather is like before i head out, but I'm keen to see it come in.

On another note, I noticed yesterday that even with the strong crosswind (i think ATIS said 20kts crosswind component) they were using 34L/R for arrivals and departures. Do you know why they wouldn't've used 25 for some landings?

Flight stats.com has the flight departing 51 minutes later than scheduled. However both Delta and Sydney airport sites and flight stats have the arrival time still as 6:35 despite the delayed departure.

Work will be going on for some time at the RESA site. The jet grouting rigs and other scaffold/cranes/equipment will be seen regularly until around march next year when the project is due for completion.

The initial forecast for yesterday was for less than 20kt winds, so there was a notice put out saying the temporary roadway and RESA project could go ahead between 0700 and 1900. There was also a Notam raised the day before saying Rwy 25 west of Golf-2 was not avbl, Rwy 07/25 not avbl for arrivals and Rwy 07 avbl for departures for Code C acft from Twy Yankee intersection. i.e. the runway couldn't be used.
There is provision for the Notam to be cancelled if certain conditions are met or occur.
