VH-VUP was the other aircraft.
http://flightaware.com/live/flight/VHVUP VH-VUR positioned MEL-HBA as VA9908 and will operate VA1321. VA1531 HBA-SYD has been cancelled. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/VHVUR VH-VUL operating this morning's VA702 BNE-HBA flew in a hold for quite some time while all of this was going on, presumably due to the lack of available parking spaces. A JQ snuck in while -VUL was holding, though... sly fox! http://flightaware.com/live/flight/VHVUL Meanwhile, VH-VUI was damaged in DRW overnight during an apparent runway excursion after being caught by a wind gust. http://www.ntnews.com.au/news/northe...9399a5a2fb60ae And just to share the love, QF2263 LDH-SYD was cancelled yesterday and it seems like the aircraft (VH-TQS) was u/s. Currently scheduled to ops back to SYD on one of today's flights (with an outbound SYD-LDH service having been cancelled). http://flightaware.com/live/flight/VHTQS (Ignore the flight number on FA) Been a couple of interesting days all round with stricken aircraft causing headaches for small airports (not DRW obviously). |

Update on the goings on:
* VUL departed several hours late as VA705 HBA-BNE. * VUR has completed VA1321 HBA-MEL. * VUI's planned DRW-ASP-ADL vv. service today has been cancelled. * YFQ is positioning PER-DRW as VA9905 in order to cover tonight's VA1464 DRW-MEL. All QF services to and from LDH today are cancelled (TQG was operating QF2260 but diverted to BNE as it seems LDH was experiencing strong wind gusts). No doubt TQS remains stuck on the Island until another Dash 8 service can make it in. With a fleet of only three Q200s (and nothing else capable of LDH), this could get challenging!? |

Some people will do anything to get some time off in Lord Howe. Blown tyres are the usual means

VUP positioned HBA-MEL this afternoon but it's next sector, VA877 to SYD has been cancelled. YFT & VUI remain in HNA and DRW respectively.

Since this now seems to a collections of dead birds,
VH-YQU is still in Brisbane after the storm damage. |

VH-YFT positioned from HBA to MEL earlier today as VA9913 and returned to service as VA1324 to HBA.
