Default Tiger B738s

Any word what Virgin are doing for the International Tiger B738s? Are they sending their own current aircraft to Christchurch for reconfig? I see VH-YFK is gone for over 7 weeks now

Thanks. So do you mean yes it's in the hanger but not sure what they're doing, or yes it's being reconfigured in the hanger?

Considering YFK is not an internationally configured aircraft (i.e no overhead life raft stowage, extra signalling equipment and I do believe it has lower thrust rating engines) could just be in for a heavy check.

Yes they won't transfer any VH-YF* 738's to Tiger.

You will find that the three that are transferred, are already seen on the routes to Denpasar as they are already equipped as stated.

I would bet the likely candidates could be between VOO VOP VOR VOY VUB VUD VUH or something like that - they are owned?? not leased, they are older, and are already used on the routes to DPS. So why not push them over to Tiger.

If they want younger 738's for some reason, then the VH-YI*'s are the candidates.

VUY and VUZ could even be candidates.

VOQ VUF VUG have not been used to DPS for quite a while - so not sure if they are still equipped. And VOX VUM & VUN used to be equipped, but have left the fleet.

VUB is heading to TSV now.

Maybe a repaint? The QF retro roo II is due to be revealed on Monday so VUB might be the next aircraft in.

I really hope the "TAI" aircraft are YI.. series. The VO.. or VU.. aircraft don't have the good stuff like ACARS and good SATCOM, whic h is very handy on DPS flights. The ex PB aircraft have had a hard life, as evidenced by patches, flattened tailskids etc.
