SBS Dateline tonight, B737 warnings
On SBS at 8:30 tonight (Sydney) Dateline has a segment supposedly warning about serious faults with the B737 production which is linked to faulty parts/ construction techniques from what I can gather.

Pretty scary stuff considering the 3 accidents may have been caused by these faulty structures. Similar scenarios with the 737 Classics that had a spate of accidents in the late 80's due to a design fault with the rudder and eventually the FAA forced Boeing to implement changes in the design (not sure but I think they added an additional fin from the fuselage to the rudder which is evident on later models).
Boeing - protected species? Big employer, Status symbol, too big to 'fall'. Your thoughts.

Hey I just watched it too, it's very disturbing and shocking.
Something rotten is going on with FAA and Boeing to want to cover this up investigation for over 10 years. I feel very sorry for those whistle blowers, typically being treated as the enemy and shafted into the wilderness. I wonder what the future holds for us (the travelling public) now we know what's going on?

I agree Nadia, I watch nearly all the Air Crash Investigation reports and it takes persistence to get these companies to change designs after fatal crashes reveal faults, eg the DC10 cargo door, B747 cargo door (on last night and the NZ couple that persisted and forced changes to the locking mechanisms).
Photos attached of the rudder changes between the 737-200 and 737-300 (and subsequent models)
