Default 787 Coming to SYD and MEL

Quote:
Australians will get a first-hand look at the Boeing 787 Dreamliner when Qantas and Boeing bring the revolutionary jet down under for a short promotional tour next month.

The Dreamliner will carry both Qantas and Jetstar livery, reflecting that both airlines will employ the 787 from early 2013 on international and domestic routes.

(See the breakdown of Qantas' plans for the Dreamliner in Qantas does the 787 shuffle.)

The 787 will visit both Sydney and Melbourne airports and it certain to be a show-stopper, even though it won't have the same interior layout as what we'll see on the QF or JQ models.

Qantas spokeswoman Olivia Wirth told The Australian aviation reporter Steve Creedy that the airline is looking to do "open days and that sort of thing so people can come and see it."

Great news. I will be in SYD on the 16th Nov, so hopefully still there, and hope to catch it in MEL as well.

I hope ZA003 (with it's new paint job) is the frame coming over. It looks fantastic and I think will present a great image of the 787 to the general public.

The fact that the 787 is such a paradigm shift in the way Airliners are built, is a huge thing for commercial aviation, especially with Airlines around here being customers.

Isn't the 787 coming over going to be painted in JQ/QF colours?

Wouldn't make sense to repaint an aircraft that's just been repainted?
