Default Golf Day proposal in Melbourne

While out on the course today, Granny and I had a discussion about organising a YSSY Message Board Golf Day in Melbourne for sometime in late August or early September. The last YSSY golf day was in Sydney, and we had Nathan Long make the trip up north for the event. We think it's time to return the favour!

The choice of course is of course Melbourne Airport Golf Club (creative thinking, huh?!) http://www.melbourneairport.com.au/F...Golf-Club.html The green fees are quite reasonable, and interstate visitors can choose to fly in, play a round, have an ale or 2, then fly home all in one day! The location of the course means spotting is included in the day. Slow play for photo opportunities will be tolerated.

So, before a definitive date and time is allocated, I would like to canvas the interest levels here for such an event. Please choose an option in the poll and indicate with a reply in the thread if you're a Melbournian or will be travelling interstate to attend.

I'm in, subject to which day you guys pick. If nothing else, I'll make you guys look good.

I can probably provide a ride for 3.

Happened to be driving past the course today along Operations road at the airport.

Looks like a decently sized course with great views of 34 Arrivals or even 16 departures if its in use.

Access is very easy and not too far from terminals.

As long as handicaps come into play Granny, I heard your a gun

I could be keen depending on dates obviously. Flew down in June for a couple games with BV.

From memory that course is a bit of a goat track, but offers many good views of aircraft

The handicap may say one thing, but a hangover can knock that right out of the equation...like it did today, hey Granny?

Keen for a hit. Few other courses around that could be a goer other than the dust bowl next to the airport, depending on days.

I'm happy to consider alternatives, but I'm not familiar with Melbourne or the airport surrounds. The airport course was chosen because it's handy for us interstate visitors.

The date I propose is Sunday 6th September. That would allow some of us to come down on the Saturday, have a few too many, then sweat it out on the Sunday.
