Default Sydney light show

Vivid Sydney is happening at the moment. Will be spending a few nights in town getting some photos.

Took a run into the city tonight to have a look at the lights, it was raining all the way in so I was not expecting to take any photographs. By 9.30pm the sky cleared, the moon came out, an it turned into quite a clear evening.

The illuminated buildings are very well done, however photographing them you have to contend with the traffic and the people. Some of the images are annimated and are not suitable to time exposures. The Opera House looked a little average while we were there, the colours were not very exciting and they took some time to change. The other buildings cycled through 6 to 10 images at abour 45 sec intervals.

This was my fairly quick first effort, if I get another opportunity I would probably give it another go.

One of the shots has QF557 climbing out for Melbourne, it took me 14 shots to frame it correctly.

Grahame - My favourite shot, which would be a great advert for the event is the 8th one in. It shows off the vibrancy of the event by the coulour, the fact that it is a working metropolis with the car passing through the shot, and the pleasure it brings the city with the crowd and in particular the couple right of centre in the shot arm in arm.
