Default QANTAS reduce initial A380 schedules

Not sure if this has been posted because looks like it has been changed today.

http://airlineroute.blogspot.com/200...-schedule.html

Quote:
As per 02OCT08 Amadeus Schedule update, QANTAS' A380 initial operating schedule has been reduced to just 2 weekly from 5 for November and December 2008.

Sydney - Los Angeles on QF011/012 will operate on Day 5 only. Day 357 from 02JAN09
Melbourne - Los Angeles on QF093/094 will operate on Day 1 only. Day 13 from 05JAN09

Planned 3 weekly Sydney - Singapore - London is still scheduled for 16JAN09 launch

or giving more training time to crews as a result of the VAustralia announcement? After all, its pretty much A380 vs 777.

These reductions have been on the QF site for about 3 weeks now so nothing to do with VA and everything to do with delayed A380 deliveries.

From reading Australian Aviation last night the delays in delivery appear to be due to suppliers for the interior components of the aircraft. According to the AA story the V Australia 777 has been delayed until November and the next Emirates A380 delayed by a month.

I just wonder will EK's SYD - AKL A380 service would be delayed.
Because I am planning to take EK to AKL next Feb and their booking system shows "A380-800"

And anyone has an idea how much will EK charge for a single ride F class to Auckland? Hope that would be affordable and comparable to QF/NZ's J service to beat them by having a shower and a bar on EK's A380 F/J Class.

My brother is travelling on the inaugural Sydney-Singapore QF 31 flight on Jan. 16th. Looks like that is still intact.

Yesterday he heard the tail end of a news item on Adelaide Radio 5AA which said............." delayed delivery of the next 7 aircraft "

At the time he did not know if this referred to Qantas and the A380.
