Question Dog Day afternoon - MEL --> LAX

The ABC News is reporting the following:

Quote:

Passengers flying from Melbourne to Los Angeles had an unexpected delay caused by a dog this weekend.

The animal, which was in the cargo hold, chewed through some cables Saturday, meaning the flight could not leave as scheduled that afternoon.

Instead, passengers were put up in hotels overnight while the problem was sorted out.

They flew to Los Angeles around midday Sunday.
Does anyone have more details?

Question

"chewed through some cables" doesn't satiate my curiosity, Karl.
