Default Flying In A Sea Plane

Has anyone flown in a sea plane before? Is it similar in comfort as flying in a small aircraft such as Saab 340 or DH3? I'm considering flying from Vancouver to Victoria on my Canada trip at the end of the year, but wasn't sure if it is worth the extra dollars compared to the ferry crossing.

Default Floatplane

I flew on one in New Zealand. It is worth it.

When you are coming into land, I was thinking, "the plane should not be this close to the water".
