Default SYD runways and the early jets

In the late 1950s and early 60s, before the first major runway extension into the bay, were both of the (then) two runways used by jets for take off and landing? The early jets, especially the turbojet 707s used by Pan Am and Qantas before the fan conversions, used ALOT of runway especially on take off, therefore I would not be surprised if only runway 07/25, then the longest runway, was used by them.
