Wednesday night's QF12 from LAX is operated by B744 VH-OEE, while QF94 is A380 VH-OQE and QF16 B744 VH-OEF. QF6004 will hopefully be VH-OQG with its new engine.

OQG will indeed be the QF6004. OEE is doing the 11 up and the 12 back.

QF6004 is indeed VH-OQG and has just commenced taxi at LAX from the far west of the airport next to South Pershing Drive.
Is this where the QANTAS maintenance hangar is located? |

Looking on google maps there are certainly 2x QF A380s and 1x QF B744 parked in that location on the satellite map (and 2x VA B77W not far away). I don't know about the hangar by there, but seems like that probably is QF's little corner of LAX, yeah.

That looks like the same hangar I saw on google maps... knew the new one had been opened, but hadn't a clue what it looked like! Cheers, Greg!

No rest for the wicked! VH-OQG is operating QF1 this afternoon and is about to depart about 50 minutes late, most of which it should make up to DXB.

After watching "The Secret Life of the Long Haul Flight" one of the comments was that they could fit a aircraft engine in the hold.
Is that true ? |
