Default Skywest To Head East?

According to their official Twitter page, an announcement will be made this week regarding a new east coast destination.

Anyone want to take a punt? Return to Melbourne? Mining flight to Brisbane? Leisure flights to Sydney?

Cheers

They could start a PER-OOL service with the F100, would it have the range or would it need a re-fuel enroute?

Whatever they do, It will be with an A320.

Maybe take on QF with Karratha-Brisbane, with a DJ codeshare.

An F100 cannot do direct PER-BNE, PER-OOL PER-SYD or KTA-BNE.
A PER-BNE or OOL via AYQ would be good.
But I think it will be MEL.

Alliance F100 flying Telfer to Brisbane, a refuel in Alice Springs is necessary

The City of Kalgoorlie Boulder has an incentive to any airline that flies to the Eastern States direct from KGI. QFLink are already doing PER-KGI-ADL-KGI-PER on Sunday and Tuesdays. The City waives the taxes associated with these flights. Im not sure if the incentive can be provided for 2 airlines at once but if it is Im sure there could be a stop from KGI on the list. Never know they might run PER to Canberra as this is least frequented by QF and DJ and also carries a lot of Politicial movements. Or the Gold Coast -Alice market? We will have to wait and see hey?

I am thinking a Pilbara port is more likely. They only pulled out of KGI-MEL 12 months ago due to poor loadings, so a return there would have to be unlikely...

I stand corrected, Melbourne is now appearing on the website, ex Kalgoorlie, from 5/2/2010...
