Default Couple of Qantas questions

Flying Qantas for the first time in about 9 years LAX-MEL in about a couple of months. Flight leaves out of TB terminal at LAX. What's it like getting through security there? We arrive in LA on AA and need to go to TB for the MEL flight. Connection is about 2 hours- is that enough?

And on the A380, what's the best area to sit in economy? The seat map looks pretty open at the moment. I was going to reserve seats up front but didn't know if there were any tips that may be better?

Thanks for any info you can give.

Cheers,

Ben

71D I believe it is. It's in the centre row of seats (but what do you need a window seat for on a 15hr cross water flight), however has no seat in front of it. Best economy seat I've ever had in an aircraft.

80A and 80K are also good for the same reason - and better if you want the window seat

BenW, Catch the bus at Gate 44 in Terminal 4 when you arrive on AA. The bus travels airside to TBIT, so you don't need to pass security again. Two hours is enough for the connection.

Thanks guys. I was trying to find info on the bus from gate 44 online but didn't find much other that Eagle connections to T8. How often does the bus run between T4 and TBIT?

Cheers,

Ben

Does this help?

http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airl...l/en#transfers

Quote:
Transfer between Terminals
A complementary shuttle service is available for customers connection from AA flights onto Qantas flights to Sydney and Melbourne (T4 to Tom Bradley International Terminal direction only).
The bus operates from 1400 to 2330.
