Look I understand copyright etc...

I have been pulled up on YSSY for even suggesting you can get it from your local site, did not use the word torrent etc.

But people are clearly posting links to YouTube Videos that are copyrighted.

WTF?

I get pulled up for saying you get it from the sites, no URL or anything given, but people post links to copyrighted material get a free pass.

Just Wrong.

I'm happy for you guys/gals to mull this over for awhile/weeks, just a thorn.

Hello Tom and thank you for your concern. Our stance on torrents, torrent related discussion and left handed websites in general came into existence some time ago after we were served with take down notices from copyright holders for content that was linked to directly by a user and shortly after, discussed in a less direct manner.

We have not had any similar requests from copyright holders with regards youtube links, presumably as it is much easier for copyright holders to request that youtube remove the offending video rather than trying to remove links to it from various locations. Should we have any communication from copyright holders, we will be more than happy to comply to remove offending links and adjust policy as always.
