Default QF 521 Unusual arrival flight path today

Can someone with knowledge about things like this assist me with this?

Today at 12:42pm QF521 a 737 from Brisbane made a very unusual, well I thought it was unusual, approach to Sydney Airport. I heard it overhead here in Redfern and jumped on Flightradar to take a look. If you look at the screen grab (see attachment) it looked like it had intended to land on runway 25 however at about 2000 feet it turned to the north and sort of followed South Dowling Street then turned west right over Central Station and then south to line up to 16 left. I have never seen such an unusual approach before and seeing a plane flying relatively low and so close to the CBD was a bit odd. Any thoughts?
