This was the actual transmission received.....

ACARS mode: 2 Aircraft reg: .VH-VYD
Message label: 5V Block id: 9 Msg. no: S16A
Flight id: QF0001

and nothing else.

Clumsy fingers on the flight deck.

ACARSD.org also came up with a similar transmission....

ACARS mode: 1 Aircraft reg: VH-VYD [Boeing B738]
Message label: ** Block id: @ Msg no: 03a2
Flight id: QF0001 [SYD-BKK-LHR] [ Qantas]
Message content:-
SBS-1 Callsign: QFA001

That would be an interesting journey in a 738. Some passengers may have to be stowed in the overhead compartments or under seats.

And if they are as lucky as Delta they will discover a deceased passenger in the lavatory shortly before touching down.
