VH-ZNG
Does anyone know what's wrong with ZNG as she hasn't flown since the 24/1?
Looks like its causing a few issues with the network with QF29 cancelled today & 744's are having to sub in for some sectors out of Melb which should have been done by 789 i.e. MEL-SFO 31/1 was operated by OEH |

I believe it was damaged, not sure when, where or how.

Wow that’s not good news if that’s the case given how new the aircraft is & not to mention the cost involved to fix it!

It was a set of maintenance stairs, around 24 Jan. I believe it’ll be out of action for another couple of weeks for repairs.

Thanks Rowan for the update.
Geez not a good result given how new the aircraft is & already needing repairs for an incident with should not have taken place. QF29 cancelled again today |

Heard they were runaway stairs from the virgin terminal that hit the 787

Accidents happen. It’s not what I would call major damage.

Very true Mick!
Any update on a date of when she will be returning to service? |

Sounds similar to the recent (2016) Brisbane storm where runaway stairs took out a few aircraft https://www.news.com.au/travel/trave...4c877d1f094463
