Default Is Jetstar Getting New Aircraft?

Hi
Just wondering this is probably a stupid question but is Jetstar getting new aircraft or leased. Because they are getting 54 A320s and 16 A321s and will they be new and when will they get delivered.

You also forgot the 787's. Yes they will be new, although some of the A321's were secondhand but after the awful state of the first couple they aren't getting anymore secondhand ones.

Yeah from what I heard Mr Joyce (then CEO of JQ), said NO WAY are we buying second hand again, they have spent so much money on the last 2 321's its ridiculous really!

I suppose its a risk you have to take, as the economic slowdown could be over in 6 months and then JQ would be like, Craaaap we need more planes!

Mind you does anyone know anymore on the Albino JQ A320?
Has/Is that going to JQ Pacific?

There was a Vietnamese registered A320 RAR-TSV yesterday so i guess that is the machine seen recently in Sth America on delivery to Jetstar Pacific.

Ah ha, but there is a precedent and it's massive, over budget, hardly sold any (certainly not enough to turn a profit - but who cares, it's Euro Tax-Payer money) and it's here.... finally, two rears or more late. Need any more clues?

At least it is flying. Also Euro tax payer money doesn't prop airbus up anymore. Us Defence contracts on the otherhand clearly do prop up the maker of the 787.

Exactly - The delays in the A380 came after it was flying! The 787 can't even get off the ground yet and has an awfully tight flight testing schedule so will likely have more delays)
