Presumably all the FA could have obtained is their name from the manifest. If that is all it takes to add someone to facebook then any work place where someones name could be obtain is then a 'threat'.

per Daily Tele
While it was initially believed the attendant accessed the girl's details through the flight manifest, Mr Westaway said he understood her name had been obtained from a flight boarding pass. so maybe she gave her boarding pass to him!!!!

She could have left her boarding pass in the seat pocket perhaps. |

What a mother! Complaining about that, when firstly her 15 year old daughter is on Facebook and the internet, what does she expect? The daughter is probably going into chat rooms... wake up mum.

Robert S - please remember the board policy of not quoting the immediately above entire post to assist in easier reading. Thank you - mod.
I think that's a little unfair. I know these things happen - I used to work in an ISP call centre, I've heard them all, trust me - but even Jetstar is acknowledging that the information was obtained from a boarding pass. At this point you can no longer attempt to claim or infer the girl invited the FA to add her on Facebook. Jetstar have also moved to suspend the FA until they complete their investigation. Just as people go around saying not to prejudge the FA, attacking the mother for complaining really isn't on either, IMO. |

It is still more than possible that she invited him by giving him her boarding pass. Guess we will never know the real truth,

Don't prejudge
Anyone can search for a name and issue an invitation on Facebook - and you can both 'ignore' an invitation and also 'block' or 'report' someone sending unwelcome invitations. Similarly it's pretty easy to Google someone's name.
So the issues are really whether the FA did anything inappropriate to ascertain the girl's name and then whether his attempt to make contact was improper. I don't think we know enough yet to simply infer that he was in the wrong, but there's enough to cause questions to be asked and then let's wait for the answer.

We just have to hope that a proper investigation is carried out, and a fair outcome is reached based on those findings, not a "trial by media". |
