Default Virgin Australia Free Meal Trial Flights

I have heard that Virgin Australia from February (this month) is trialing free meals to passengers on board flights between Sydney and Melbourne.

I am planning to travel to Melbourne from Sydney later this month and can someone recommend me which VA flights will offer free meal trials that I can test it out?

Thanks.

All flights between SYD-MEL & SYD-BNE vice versa receive a complementary snack and drink.

They provide "light snacks" rather than a full meal, on a recent flight last week I received a slice of banana bread for breakfast and for dinner all passengers received a spicy salsa dip and crackers (I'd recommend filling up the stomach beforehand at the airport or lounge).

I'm sure they are doing this to compete with Qantas, but for the amount of time in the air, I don't think I'll starve if I go without.
I wonder how many meals and coffee's are consumed at the airport terminals by people who are mainly looking for something to do while waiting for their plane.
On my most recent Qantas trip from Melbourne to Sydney, the meal was a chicken pie and a can of soft drink. At least I didn't have to buy a meal in the terminal knowing I was going to get a free feed on the plane.
3 different complimentary newspapers at the various departure gates meant I didn't have to buy a newspaper as well.
The train fare from Sydney Domestic to home more than cancelled out any savings on food, drinks and newspapers.

Is this the same as the free meal/snack offered to Flex ticket holders?

No it's less than what you used to get on Flexi Tickets. It's pretty poor form really. No lounge access on Flexi Fares anymore now as well.

Flexi Fares never gave you lounge access, only Business Class fares do that.

Then is there any upgraded meals offered if you purchase a flexi fare?

Flexi Fare guests receive the same "meal" as Saver Lite/Saver fare guests!

Cheese and crackers, or corn chips and salsa dip, are about the max you get.
