Fisheye Lens'
Hey everyone,
Over the last few months I have been looking around for a Fisheye lens. I have come down to it and im after either a Sigma 8mm or 10-20mm. How much would i be looking at paying for one of these two? Does anyone have either of these possibly for sale or who could give me some advice? Incase you don't know im using a Canon 400D so obviously it'd need to fit Canon. Tim |

Hi Tim.
I to am after a fish-eye lens and have decided upon the Tokina atx 107 10-17, a friend has this lens and I've borrowed it often and am delighted with the effect that it gives. It is, after all, just a spare "fun" lens, not a daily use one. With my birthday next week I expect to find one nicely wrapped up on my pillow - God knows I've dropped enough hints. Results of this lens can be seen here http://www.tokinalens.com/products/t...07-10-17mm.jpg In my lens arsenal I have a Sigma 10-20 which is perfect for wide angle shots on the 40D - I would never call the 10-20 lens a fish-eye, it is however super wide which suits me often. |

Tim,
For a Sigma 15mm EX fisheye your looking at around $699.00 and for the 4.5mm or 8mm fisheye close to $1,000. Sigma does a good 20mm f/1.8 EX which is around $540 which might be your best bet. Good luck mate the options are endless. |

Hi Tim
I dont have a Fisheye yet, although if i could offer any advice. I would consider this outlet in New York if you want to buy new. I know the aussie dollar is weaker on the American than it was a few months back but they are still a good deal. I bought my Canon 70-200L USM IS from them and saved $1500 on an outlet in Sydney and it was delivered by UPS within 5 days. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

You could also try... http://www.qualitycamera.com.au/ ...I've bought a number of items from these guys and they're very reliable, and they don't sell 'grey market' lenses or bodies.

Tim,
Just about everything is cheaper in Honkers. I buy all my top line fishing brands from Honkers and Japan. Example.... Shimano Stella reel here $845-895. Shipped in from Honkers $643 landed. And if I had of realized I could have had it for $598 from Japan landed. |

Tim,
Nice to met you in Shep's Mound last Sunday. I know that Sam Chui has fish eye lens for his Nikon camera, so if you want to know about fish eye lens, ask Sam Chui. It is up to you. From Cliff Cook |

Hey Cliff yeah Sam is one of my hero's haha. I have noticed he is almost famous for his 10.5mm Fisheye shots of flightdecks etc. Only problem is he uses a Nikon. I did see Sam once at the Mound with the guy that drives the blue ford with reg JAB-747.

Look on Ebay for cost of the lenses. I do that and compare it in the shops and usually get it for about the same price here in Perth. Also in google do the picture search which will allow you look at the lenses. I have the 10-20mm sigma lens. Its a good lens however there is always a bit of blurriness on one side of the image.
