Default VH-OJJ Status?

Hi All

Does anyone happen to know the status of 744 VH-OJJ?

It arrived from JNB a few days ago but appears nowhere after that.
I was out at YSSY this morning and couldn't see it at the Jet Base either.

Just a bit unusual for one of the older 3 class 744's to be idle for so long unless there is a tech problem. They are usually on the hop on QF5/6 and 21/22 etc.

Cheers
Jim

I have OJJ on ACARS operating the service below ...

2012-10-13 15:41:00 VH-OJJ B747-438 QF0064 Qantas Johannesburg-Sydney

but nothing since. Also checked the global ACARS database and nothing also.

Amybe tucked in a hanger at the QF Jet Base.

Thanks Grahame,I think you might be right about it being tucked away in a hangar and i think i may have seen a 744 tail partially sticking out of one of the hangars opposite T3,but i can't be sure as i was in the car on Qantas Dr.

If it was, i'd love to know why it is there....

Cheers

Thanks all,

Flightaware showing OJJ scheduled for QF5 this afternoon at 1650.

Whatever the issue may have been seems to have been resolved.

Jim, in the spirit of our 747s, I noted upon my shuttle from international to domestic today that OJA, OJQ, OJE were in the hangars. OJA was having an engine change. OJQ got a wash. OJE looked like something more serious was going on with her. Nice to see them.

Hi Dave,

Couldn't agree more. Always nice to see our 747s.

Hopefully OJE will be back in service soon.
