Taking out some J seats and adding in more Y+ and Y

Going from:14F/72J/32W/332Y
Going to:14F/64J/35W/371Y

F - Stays the same
J - Decrease of 8 seats
W - Increase of 3 seats
Y - Increase of 39 seats

From another forum, thanks to QF002 - I also read that 1 of the toilets upstairs may go from J....

"The central upstairs galley will shrink, and 4 J seats will be fitted at the front of the main cabin.
W will fill from D2 back (5 rows of 7 seats), in the space freed up by the removal of 12 J seats.
Y will fill out the rest of the upper deck (3 rows of 8 and a couple of pairs next to the galley like the current W configuration). W and Y will probably share the two bathrooms at the rear of the upper deck."

Hey guys,

How long does work like that take and does it coincide with Amy other work? Maybe a C check?

Cheers

M

Smile Thread has morphed

Probably time to close off this thread with Nancy now back in the air and the discussion having morphed off topic ...

Very nice video. It was always going to be a special moment (QF32 finishing its journey to Sydney 535 days later.....yada yada yada)

They seemed to be a day behind as well on the chronology. It left Singapore on 21 April and arrived 22 April. (picky, I know!)

Great video for a very fitting occasion. Well done to all at Qantas who made it happen.

It was one of those things that was so special to be a part of - I was a member of the team which went up to Singapore and brought back Nancy-Bird Walton and while the video guy did his thing, I captured stills of the whole of the two days events.

However, on leaving Singapore, I did break out the video part of the DSLR to capture the take off which I've just posted up on YouTube if anyone is interested ....
