Hi Grahame (or anyone who can answer),

Just curious, i know envoy is the callsign of 34 sqn ( if i remember correctly).

But what do the numbers signify?

I was listening to ATC in Perth on the weekend and A36002 was coming in as Envoy 86.

Thanks in advance.

Rhys

Rhys, from previous posts I beleive it is the pilots number (someone may be able to confirm this).

Thats correct some sauadrons use pilots numbers i believe and others use the aircraft tail number, depending on how many aircraft that they have. I think the RAAF are more pilot number where as navy use the helicopter tail number. Not sure on Army.
