RAAF RETIRES F111s TODAY
Today, Friday 3 December 2010, will be a memorable day in the RAAF's history as its remaining F111s are retired after 37 years service.
Big celebrations are planned at Amberley throughout the day and hopefully we will get some decent coverage on TV news tonight. |

Was able to get up to Brissie on Friday with Jayden, and whilst dodging a shower or two, made our way up to 'Kangaroo Cliffs', where we joined the masses of people...
It was overcast terribly, and when all of the action was said and done (in about 5 seconds), this is what I managed to get... Rounding for an approach slightly south of the city In formation, just prior to the very two to the right seperating to fly over the Storey Bridge and reform closer towards the airport Fly over near Kangaroo Cliffs Also managed, behind glass at Brisbane Domestic due to rain, to get the Charter A340 (CS-TQM) departing for Sydney then Darwin and beyond (which we saw getting ready to taxi in Sydney when we arrived back home... Regardless of the (not so friendly) weather, it was great to be there to see the final flyover... THANKS Jayden for the trip up, it was great and had a ball! |
