Williamtown Runway

has anyone heard that the RAAF are planing a 600m Extension of the Runway at Wiliamtown. There was an article in the Newcastle Herald last Saturday that mentioned it.

If they are going to extend the runway towards the south east that will certainly be interesting as it will move the threshold closer to the road that goes past the base.

There'll be some good photo ops from Fighter world if they do.....

Google Maps measures about 600 metres from the road the the current threshold.
