Default Perth ACARS permanently down

Unfortunately the Perth ACARS website is now permanently offline.

I will quote from the website (http://perthacars.no-ip.org:8050/acars/):

Quote:
**LIVE FEED NOW PERMANENTLY OFFLINE**

Unfortunately after a continuous live ACARS feed since August 2001 I had a piece of hardware in my ACARS set up fail on October 12th 2008.

The piece of hardware can't be fixed and is no longer available so the hardware issue along with a lack of time due to family and work means that the live ACARS feed has now ceased.
Historical data can still be obtained by clicking here

Such a pity, was a great service to use. I was just going to set up an email watch for 744F's for the Red Bull Air Race.

Disappointing to say the least!

In my opinion.

That's sad news.

Have used it and enjoyed it many times.

Also appreciate and understand all the effort that goes into it for our enjoyment/satisfaction.

If this gets to be seen by the person that ran it.

Thank you from me.

Kind regards,

Geoff

Thanks for the great info Luke!

I trust you had a great flight on the A380! (You should change that signature...now qf a380 compliant!)

I got this email an hour or so ago...

Quote:
G'day,

If you are receiving this email then you have a current 'watch' on the Perth
ACARS system.

The system has been running almost non-stop since 16th August 2001 and it's
been great to be able to produce a system used by so many people.

I'm now moving and due to various reasons won't be able to set up the ACARS
facility at my new place. Consequently the live ACARS feed and watches will
no longer be available.

Regards

Greg Meechan
Oh well. I should get PlanePlotter!
