Default Bird strike at LAX - possibly QF26??

Just received the following message from a friend of mine on Facebook. I am not sure of the flight he was on but I see that QF26 has been delayed by 12 hours at LAX, so could be this one.

Departed LA for AKL bird strike on the nose of the plane knocked out the weather radar system. Dumped fuel for 1 hour now back in LA to assess the damage - I wonder how the bird is??? I am sitting in biz class 3 rows from the nose it was a pretty big impact.

Cheers
Mark

Apologies for the quality, but I have been sent a picture of the aircraft sporting a now somewhat dented nose
