Default United Fri & Sat??

I had a friend who was booked to fly from SYD-LAX on United yesterday (Fri). When I checked on the Sydney Airport website last night, no such flight went out - though one did come in from LAX. Then today, the LAX flight was listed as cancelled with 2 due out tomorrow (Sun). I've lost track of how many United planes would be on the ground in SYD at the moment. I don't know if my friend got out or not. Can anyone shed light on the goings on (or lack thereof). Thanks

There was one that overnighted here after it flew down from Brissy at about 8pm last night. 2 came in this morning (one from SFO, other from LAX) ... both were late and got in at about 9ish.. one of them then went to MEL like normal.. Don't know what happened after that but apparently there will be a third United flight tomorrow which will be used for cargo or something like that.. not to sure on the details of it.

Thanks Andrew. I did find out that my friends were transferred to a Qantas flight. So at least they got out.
