Default Cargolux to start Weekly Sydney Service

Morning all,

From the Cargolux website...

Quote:
Cargolux announced today that the Company is introducing two new flights that are bridging continents faster than ever before.
Flight CV 8923 starting on 19 October 2011 is one of the Company’s longest routings with a total of 75 block hours and 10 sectors, combining Asia-Transpacific with USA-Australia-USA services.

CV 8923 is operated every Wednesday evening at 19:00 out of Luxembourg, with arrival in Hong Kong on the next day at 16:00. The flight then reaches New York the same day at 23:45 and Chicago on Friday at 03:00. The flight leaves the USA and continues to Sydney, reaching the Australian metropolis at 15:40 on Saturday afternoon before flying back to the USA, arriving in Los Angeles the same day at 14:30 and in Chicago at 22:25. The flight then returns to Luxembourg on Sunday at 14:15. This new connection is the first USA-Australia-USA service offered by Cargolux to its worldwide clients.
info from http://www.cargolux.com/Press/PressReleases.php?nid=302

The flight will route Luxemburg-Hong Kong-New York-Chicago-Sydney-Los Angeles

1st flight tomorrow is being operated by B744 LX-PCV.

Yes! thanks a lot Stefan, I'll definitely be going out to YSSY tomorrow.
Anyone know what time it departs Sydney, I'm guessing pretty late.

They cancelled the MEL service over a year ago now, I still think it would be cheaper to fly to MEL or BNE and then fly on to LAX.

Well at least CX Cargo will bring the 748 to SYD and MEL.

No 747-8's scheduled at this point, when more are delivered we will probably see one operate the flight.

Too bad the first flight can't be an aircraft in full livery.
