Once all 12 4 class A380s are in service (including Nancy) they should be able to go daily on the SYD-HKG-SYD route.
3x A380s for the daily QF31/32 3x A380s for the daily QF9/10 2x A380s for the daily QF11/12 2x A380s for the daily QF93/94 1x A380 for the daily QF127/128 Total of 11 frames plus 1 spare. Cheers |

I don't know if I buy the idea of an entire spare A380 for a fleet of 11 that's still young-ish and not demanding heavy maintenance. Perhaps better to have a spare 744 available if an A380 goes tech?
I do wonder if too much capacity is being pumped into HKG and if the spare A380 and capacity from doing another 3x weekly HKG would be better deployed to LAX--either the second daily SYD or the BNE. |

A number of A380 flights to HKG are on special, but none coming back. Most of the HKG-SYD flights on the A380 are selling for about $600.

I did a dummy booking and it was $380 in both directions on every day. $760 return is fantastic!

Will this mean the end of Qantas 744 ops at LAX?
