The V Australia crew are some of the lowest paid and work some of the longest single duty periods in the local industry.

There ist no word about flight time, duty time, wocl, proceedings, captains decision...
In europe we have EU-OPS ( and "subpart Q" for flight and duty time limitations and rest requirements ) for all european airlines. |

mmm correct me if I am wrong, but the CAO48 only specifies the hours that can't be exceeded from a regulatory or safety perspective, and I think the individual EBAs negotiated between individual airlines and unions spells out all the finer details.

CAO48.1 only covers flight crew not cabin crew - there are no CASA regulations regarding cabin crew flight/duty times in Australia.
Also CAO48.1 is not relevent for a number of operators as they work on approved fatigue management systems. The relevent EBA's, contracts, work rules etc of airlines normally detail flight/duty time limitations in conjunction with the approved fatigue management system (or CAO48.1) and the relevent federal awards. That´s bad, we have nearly the same conditions for cabin and flight crews and thank you for the CAO48.1 hint.
